About Les Amis

Les Amis is the three-Michelin-star French restaurant of chef Sebastien Lepinoy, at 1 Scotts Road inside Shaw Centre in Singapore's Orchard district. It opened in 1994 as Singapore's first independent fine-dining room, earned its third star in 2019, and has anchored the top of our Singapore guide ever since. Lepinoy, who trained for seventeen years under Joël Robuchon, took over the kitchen in 2013.

The cooking is classical French built on seasonal produce flown from France, paired with one of Asia's deepest cellars: Les Amis is the only restaurant on the continent to hold three Michelin stars, a Forbes five-star rating and a Wine Spectator Grand Award together. For what separates a kitchen worth the bill, see our guide to the signs of a great restaurant.

The Kitchen

The signature is the cold angel-hair pasta dressed with kombu, sherry vinaigrette and chives, crowned with a generous scoop of caviar and shaved black truffle, a dish that has followed Lepinoy across his career. Around it sit precise, produce-led courses, Brittany seafood, French poultry and game in season, finished tableside. The set lunch starts near S$155; dinner degustations run from S$185 to about S$295 for nine courses, with the cellar a destination in its own right.

The Room

The main room is hushed and softly lit, formal without stiffness, the kind of space built for a long, important meal rather than a quick one. Service is choreographed by a floor team rated five stars by Forbes, attentive and discreet, and the wine list is presented with genuine expertise. There are private rooms for business parties, which is why the restaurant draws as many client dinners as anniversaries.

Best for a milestone anniversary or a client dinner

Reserve the main room for a landmark anniversary or a dinner meant to impress clients; the private rooms and the cellar also make it a quiet place to close a deal.

Not for

A casual or budget evening, or a quick bite: this is a formal, top-end degustation room where dinner runs several hours and several hundred dollars.
