"Ryogo Tahara's two-Michelin-star Japanese-Taiwanese tasting rewards the patient diner — book weeks ahead for a Taipei proposal worth the wait."
About logy
logy is the Taipei tasting room of chef Ryogo Tahara, opened in 2018 as the sister restaurant to Tokyo's two-Michelin-star Florilège. It won a Michelin star in the inaugural Taipei guide and was promoted to two stars, which it holds in the Michelin Guide Taiwan 2025. In 2025 it relocated to a walnut-lined room on Ruiguang Road in Neihu District.
Hokkaido-born Tahara trained in Italy — at one-star La Ciau del Tornavento and two-star Torre del Saracino — before joining Florilège. His cooking belongs among the most ambitious tables in Taipei, alongside the Taiwanese-French Tairroir and André Chiang's RAW.
The Kitchen
Dinner is an omakase of more than ten courses that changes with the season, melding Japanese and Taiwanese elements: a signature chawanmushi with crab and celery sorbet in hot beef consommé, and an ochazuke made with Taiwanese tea and Hokkaido rice paired with Kyushu wagyu. The cooking is precise, layered and quietly playful.
It is firmly fine dining, built as a tasting menu rather than an a-la-carte room; for a different Taipei experience, the modern Taiwanese MUME is a strong alternative.
The Room
The Neihu room is generously furnished in walnut, intimate and calm, seating only a dozen-odd guests so the kitchen can plate and explain each course closely. Service is gracious and unhurried, with wine and tea pairings that follow the menu's swing between Japanese restraint and Taiwanese flavour.
Best for a proposal
The intimate room, set tasting and chef-led service make logy a memorable proposal in Taipei, and its sense of occasion suits a milestone anniversary dinner.
Not for
Not for a spontaneous or budget night — logy is a set, multi-course tasting in far-out Neihu that books out well ahead, not a casual walk-in.
