About Rococo

Rococo opened on Victoria Island in the space that previously housed Shores Dining, reworked into a fine-dining room, lounge and music hall that the owners style as the ‘art of fine living’. It has quickly become one of the addresses Lagos uses for an occasion: in December 2025 it hosted the Awari Restaurant Week Awards, the city's dining showcase, which says something about where it sits in the scene.

It is one of a cluster of Victoria Island tables worth knowing. Compare the Japanese cooking at Izanagi, the modern Nigerian plates at Nok by Alara and the rooftop view at Sky Restaurant, or browse the wider fine-dining picks.

The Kitchen

The menu is international and continental with Nigerian anchors. Reviewers point to the seafood paella as the signature, alongside jumbo shrimp and salmon with steamed rice, tender lamb shanks and a ribeye with roasted potatoes; the kitchen also keeps Nigerian favourites like pounded yam with egusi on the card. Dessert is a decadent chocolate lava cake.

It is upper-tier for Lagos but in line with Victoria Island's fine-dining rooms — mains run from the high teens into the forties of thousands of naira, with seafood and steak at the top.

The Room

The room is the show: an Italian-and-French-inflected design of plush velvet seating, hand-painted ceilings, gilt detailing and original artwork — vintage glamour rather than restraint. Service runs to valet parking and concierge polish, and as the evening goes on the dining room slides into lounge-and-music-hall mode. Open from midday until late.

Best for a special dinner that turns into a late night out

Rococo suits a dinner that becomes a night out — the glamour and service make it a strong choice to impress clients or mark a birthday, and the lounge energy makes it a confident first-date room. For more of the city's tables, see Locale or browse the full Lagos dining guide.

Not for

Not for a quiet, conversation-led dinner — the room is built for glamour and turns into a lounge and music hall as the night goes on, so it is loud by design.
