About Chateau Mygo

Chateau Mygo House of Seafood sits directly on the dock at Marigot Bay, one of the prettiest working harbours in Saint Lucia. It anchors part of our Saint Lucia coverage and our seafood guide as the bay's most characterful waterside table.

The restaurant is third-generation family-run, owned and cooked by chef Shaid Rambally, whose kitchen blends his French Creole and East Indian heritage. The terrace looks out to Le Bas sandspit, where the 1967 Dr Dolittle was filmed.

The Kitchen

The cooking is a fusion of French Creole and East Indian, built on what the boats bring in: Atlantic red snapper, mahi mahi and Caribbean lobster, alongside mango, papaya, okra, taro and ripe plantain. Curries and rotis sit on the same menu as grilled fish and Creole stews.

Prices are fair for a waterfront table in Saint Lucia, with lobster the top-end order. It is relaxed island cooking done with care, not a formal tasting room.

The Room

The dining deck is built out over the water on stilts, open to the breeze, with the marina and moored yachts a few feet away. Wood, rope and harbour light do the decorating.

It is at its best near sunset, when the bay glows and the boats settle. Tables along the rail are the ones to request.

Best for a waterside date or anniversary

Chateau Mygo suits a relaxed waterfront first date, an island anniversary or a low-key birthday over the bay. For other Saint Lucia options, compare Jade Mountain Club, Dasheene at Ladera and Boucan.

Not for

Not for diners after fine-dining polish, tasting menus or a quiet hushed room — it is a busy, family-run dockside seafood house where the harbour setting is the main event.
