Miami's Most Intelligent Power Table

Cote arrived in Miami's Design District in February 2021 carrying both a James Beard nomination and a Michelin star from its New York flagship. By the end of its first year, it had earned its own Michelin star — becoming one of the few restaurants to achieve starred status twice in two cities. This is not a franchise. It is a serious kitchen that has replanted its ambitions in Miami and grown something new.

The concept is fundamentally simple: it marries the Korean barbecue tradition — the ritual of cooking meat at your own table, the communal intimacy of the shared grill — with the American steakhouse's reverence for prime cuts, formal service, and serious wine. The result is a dining experience that is simultaneously relaxed and elevated, participatory and professional.

The dining room is designed with the precision of a jewellery box: dark, intimate, with smokeless state-of-the-art tabletop grills built into every table. There is no residual smoke smell when you leave. There are no stained clothes. The technology is invisible. What remains is the ritual.

What to Order

The Butcher's Feast at $78 per person is one of the most compelling value propositions in Miami fine dining. It includes four cuts of prime beef — typically a prime ribeye, a NY strip, a short rib, and a brisket — plus accompaniments: egg soufflé, steak tartare, seasonal vegetables, and a selection of banchan (Korean side dishes). For a Michelin-starred restaurant, the price point is extraordinary. Order it without deliberation.

The Steak Omakase at $225 per person is for the serious occasion: a chef-selected progression of cuts chosen for that evening's service, often including wagyu, dry-aged beef, and seasonal specials unavailable on the standard menu. This is what you book when impressing clients requires going beyond impressive.

The wine list deserves special attention — it is one of Miami's most curated, with a serious depth in Burgundy and rare American producers. The sommelier at Cote knows their cellar intimately and welcomes genuine conversation about what you're drinking.

Best For: Closing Deals and Team Dinners

Cote is one of Miami's most effective Close a Deal restaurants for a structural reason: the shared grill format transforms a business dinner into a shared physical experience. You are not sitting across a table performing small talk — you are cooking together, making decisions about how to handle a piece of wagyu, laughing when someone flips a short rib too early. By the time the Butcher's Feast concludes, you've spent ninety minutes in genuine collaboration with your guest. The deal was probably done over the third cut.

As a Team Dinner venue, the shared format scales beautifully. Groups of six to ten have an exceptional time here; the communal cooking creates team energy that a conventional restaurant cannot manufacture. Book a private dining room for larger groups — Cote accommodates buyouts for the right occasion.

For Birthday celebrations, the drama of the tabletop grill combined with the quality of the meat makes for a memorable evening. The kitchen will acknowledge special occasions with appropriate ceremony if informed at reservation.

Getting a Table

Cote takes reservations through OpenTable and Resy. Reserve two to three weeks ahead for weekend evenings; one week is usually sufficient for weeknights. The Design District location places it within walking distance of L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Boia De, making the neighbourhood one of the most interesting dinner walks in Miami if you can navigate the dining room transitions.
